My Story
I began playing Mah Jong as a young adult in Orlando, and over the years it has become much more than a game to me; it’s been a meaningful part of my social life and overall well-being. Before relocating to Philadelphia in 2024, I had the joy of playing regularly with a group of women for over 20 years. Those friendships and shared experiences are a big part of why I love introducing others to the game.
My connection to Mah Jong started even earlier. As a child, I remember hearing the familiar clack of tiles during my mother’s games. Later in life, I was lucky enough to join her table, playing alongside seasoned “mahj mavens” and feeling like I had truly arrived.
Over the years, I’ve taught Mah Jong both formally and informally, and I bring a patient and encouraging approach to every lesson. I believe learning Mah Jong should be fun, relaxed, and never intimidating. Whether you’re brand new or looking to build confidence, I’ll guide you step-by-step so you can enjoy the game and the connections that come with it.
